Academic and Literary Work
As a scholar, I’ve concentrated on the relationship between technology, ideology, consciousness, and culture through my books -"Inventing Intelligence: A Social History of Smart" and "Romantic Voices: Identity and Ideology in British Culture." This interest extends to my creative writing evident in my debut techno-thriller "Mindweavers I and II " which draw on my knowledge of technology and cultural philosophy to create a dark vision of genetic warfare spanning three generations. My genre-bending fiction explores the boundaries between human and machine intelligence as well as though role that artificial intelligence is having in the formation of human identity.
Current Projects and Advocacy
Currently I serve as President and Executive Director of GreenPets Inc. and Editor-in-Chief for GreenWorld Publishers. I’m channeling my passion for environmental causes and animal welfare in my forthcoming GreenPets Care Bible Series to be released in the Fall 2025. This series reflects my commitment to sustainable and compassionate pet ownership and the new science of pet ecology, drawing on years of advocacy work in the Seattle area. The second volume of "Mindweavers—The Attack" will be releaed in June 2025. I am finishing a récit entitled "Troubled Dreamers" and a new novel entitled "The Attic."
Media Presence and Influence
My commentary has appeared in the New York Times and across major media platforms such as NPR, CNN, and BBC. My past interdisciplinary writing offers a vital framework for interrogating what it means to remain "human" in an age of algorithmic governance, infocosis, AI homogeneity, and synthetic biology. I have also appeared on several media presentation related to my work on school violence.
Unique Perspective
By straddling academia, tech entrepreneurship, and literature, I have tried to model forms of inquiry and writing that are both intellectually rigorous and socially engaging—making me, as some critics have noted, a beacon for 21st-century public intellectuals navigating the blurred boundaries between theory, fiction, and activism. Critics have also suggested that my unique blend of military experiences, academic expertise, and environmental activism infuses my writing with rare authenticity and philosophical depth as I continue to explore the complex relationships between humanity, technology, and the natural world.
